Many people said we were crazy to consider touring again with an Orchestra after all these years. However, we went ahead and you can see the results for yourselves. The members of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra are superb musicians who have shown their ability to adapt to the requirements of "Rock" music and it must be said that the members of BJHFLH similarly have shown their talent by adhering to the structure required to play to the Scores.

So enjoyable was the experience in March/April 2006 that we did it all again with an additional 8 members in the Orchestra for a tour of Germany in December 2006. Plans are already underway for more dates with the Orchestra in 2007 and beyond.

This DVD was filmed in 16:9 Widescreen format and the audio brought to you in Dolby Stereo. For now at least, the release is in PAL only.

ON THE ROAD

This film was recorded during this band's first tour of Germany during the period from 15th October to 3rd November 2002. The footage used to compile the concert video was taken from the following venues:

Leipzig, Gewandhaus
Munich, Circus Krone
Losheim, Eisenbahnhalle
Crailsheim, Großsporthalle
Aschaffenburg, Stadthalle
Berlin, Columbiahalle
Ludwigshafen, Eberthalle
Wilhelmshafen, Stadthalle
Rastatt, Badnerhalle

The audio was recorded at the Bad Godesburg Stadthalle on the 30th October 2002.

The group, Barclay James Harvest featuring Les Holroyd consists, of Barclay James Harvest founder members Les Holroyd and Mel Pritchard. Joining them on stage are:

Colin Browne on keyboards and backing vocals, Colin has been a regular guest musician with Barclay James Harvest for the last 25 years.

Steve Butler A backing vocalist of the highest quality who fronted his own group, Monroe, in the 80's, Steve showed his talents by also playing percussion and keyboards.

Michael Byron-Hehir Mike's lead guitar work can be found on albums by Sad Café and Corey Hart among others. Having played on the album "Revolution Days", this was the first time that fans could experience for themselves his individual style and playing ability.

Chris Jago The baby of the group. Using Chris as a second (acoustic) drummer to complement Mel Pritchard's subtle electronic tones, Chris brought with him his own blend of creativity and aggression that displayed a maturity beyond his years.

Ian Wilson Ian was also a member of Sad Café. He really showed his versatility by playing rhythm guitar, bass and acoustic guitars, changing from one to the other with ease according to the song being played. All of this and combining his unmistakable vocal talents for harmonies and backing.

In January 2004, we sadly and unexpectedly lost Mel. He is missed more than words can express by all in the band. His legacy is his music and it is hoped that you will enjoy watching him in this film, doing what he loved best - playing the music he loved in front of great audiences with musicians that he loved.
