Colin Browne Colin owes his musical ability to his mum, Nell, who used to entertain family and friends at parties in South London, accompanying on piano and giving forth with her extraordinary operatic voice! (She often scared school friends as well). First paid gig, aged 14 was with ‘O.B.H’ Our Blue Haze a psychedelic blues band. Three years later he played alongside Andy Summers in Toerag, a vehicle for up and coming talent at the ‘Bridge’ on Wandsworth Bridge. He has since played with Kate Bush (spot him on videos Running Up That Hill, Big Sky and Rubber Band Girl), Climax Blues Band and Ruby Turner, playing the prestigious Berne Jazz Festival in 2000. Colin joined BJH in 1978 and was there for the ‘Concert for the People’ at the Rheichstaag, Berlin and then the ‘Glasnost’ concert for the people of East Berlin at Treptower Park, attended by 350,000 and 170,000 people respectively. Colin runs Ad Lib studio in Market Drayton for local talent rehearsing and recording. He may well have an album out on the Ad Lib label early next year.
